Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:
- A former Alabama prison guard has been arrested and charged with allegedly smuggling contraband into the St. Clair County Correctional Facility. According to Alabama Department of Corrections spokesman Bob Horton, marijuana was found in the employee’s possession when the prison inspected him before his Thursday shift.
- A 14-year-old Oak Park Middle School student was taking into police custody after a loaded gun was found in his possession at the school. Decatur Police charged as a juvenile for illegally carrying a concealed weapon.
- Police have charged a man and a woman with animal cruelty after discovering and removing 51 animals (11 of which were deceased) from an abandoned home in Warrior.
