Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:
- In the early hours of Saturday morning, a Dothan man was fatally shot multiple times outside of a local nightclub. The 29-year-old male suspect turned himself into the authorities. Police have described the incident as “an execution.”
- A 48-hour manhunt for a Cherokee County double murder and kidnapping is finally over. Police believe the suspect, Jeffrey Alan Wilcox, was the son-in-law of one of the victims.
- The Alabama State Fire Marshall’s Office recently launched an investigation against Collins Chapel Force Chief Shawn Carlisle. Authorities arrested Carlisle last Thursday, and charged him with the theft of thousands of dollars from the fire station’s bank account between 2013 and 2016.
