- A 49-year-old man was arrested Saturday for financial exploitation of the elderly and home repair fraud charges. Police say he took between $500 and $2500 from an Alabaster woman for incomplete home repairs.
- Northwest Alabama authorities are searching for two men and a woman who brandished weapons at motorists as they were fleeing Lauderdale County police. The woman, 22-year-old Skyler Nicole Burgess, was wanted on an escape warrant and had been staying at a local hotel.
- After leading police on a foot chase and sending two officers to the hospital on Sunday night, Wesley Adam Whitworth is being held in Jefferson County Jail charged with two counts of second-degree assault, felon in possession of a firearm and second-degree receiving stolen property.
- A northwest Alabama woman faces arson and capital murder charges after a house fire on Thanksgiving Eve killed her husband following a domestic dispute.
