Here are a few of the criminal law stories from the past week that occurred around the state of Alabama:
- A former employee at Heritage Christian University in Florence has been charged with third-degree burglary, first- and third-degree theft of property and three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle. The burglary happened at the school on February 11th.
- Two men have been charged with murder in the death of Dora teen, Nicholas Hawkins. Police are still holding a person of interest in the case on unrelated charges.
- The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit put eight people behind bars on Tuesday. Officers charged the suspects with trafficking methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and put them each on a $50,000 bond.
- Police have made an arrest in the January shooting death of Birmingham resident, Jerrell Rodgers. The suspect, Lee Andre Moultry, is being held on a $60,000 bond, though the motivation for the crime is still being investigated.
