Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:
- Some people do whatever it takes to avoid court, including this Hanceville man who called in a bomb threat to get out of his court appointment on June 8th. Originally charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, he is now being held in the Calhoun County Detention Center on a $17,000 bond and now charged with making a terrorist threat.
- A young man and teenage girl have been arrested for breaking and entering into a car in the Greystone community this past week. They also possessed two stolen handguns. The man is being held on a $10,500 bond in the Hoover jail, while the teen is being processed through the Shelby County juvenile system.
- The Alabama Department of Corrections reported that a St. Clair County Correctional Facility officer has been booked into the jail after being found with illegal drugs and other contraband.
