- In the latest developments for the Mike Hubbard case in Lee County, Sonny Regan testified that his former colleague, prosecutor Matt Hart, used illegal tactics in investigating Hubbard. The defense is pushing for the 23 felony ethics charges against the Alabama lawmaker and Speaker to be thrown out based on misconduct. Judge Jacob Walker is currently deciding Hart’s possible disposal.
- Federal, state and local law enforcement officials involved in a violent crime reductive initiative called Operation Triple Beam have made 114 arrests since June and have seized 49 illegal firearms, $22,000 in U.S. currency and $29,000 worth of illegal drugs.
- West Alabama narcotics agents and the Hale County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fairhope man last Saturday on charges of “trafficking in illegal drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia”.
- Three teens have been booked and charged for the shooting death of Miles College student, 21-year-old Keenen Tajae Morris.
- Five teenage members of the “Trained to Go” gang have been charged in connection with a carjacking that occurred on Monday, October 5th; police also charged three of these teens with capital murder of a 58-year-old man that happened that same night.
