Jeremy Elwin Owens enters plea to Capital Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer for killing Birmingham Police Sergeant Wytasha Carter and was sentenced to life without parole.
Aniah’s Law, new bill named for murdered college student Aniah Blanchford of Homewood, approved by the Alabama House of Representatives. The bill, if approved, will allow prosecutors to ask judges to deny bail for people charged with certain crimes.
