- A Shelby County couple was arrested this past week for allegedly forcing their seven-year-old to sleep outside without food or drink as punishment. Police said four other children have been removed from the home since the incident.
- A poker game took a turn for the worst after a 71-year-old Tuscaloosa woman shot a 70-year-old man that she accused of stealing from her in an earlier game. Charged with attempted murder, the suspect is being on a $60,000 bond at Tuscaloosa County Jail.
- The Morgan County Drug Task Force conducted a bust on Wednesday that yielded 8 meth labs in a neighborhood near a Hartselle elementary school. Two suspects, a man and a woman, were arrested.
