Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:
- According to Dora Police Chief Jared Hall, Joshua Adam Reese, one of the three murder suspects in the death of Dora teen Nicholas Hawkins, had a previous relationship with Hawkins and Hawkins’ mother. After Hall’s testimony, the judge ruled that there was probable cause for the murder and bound the case to a grand jury.
- A Huffman teen found her mother stabbed to death in their home on Tuesday. Police arrested the victim’s boyfriend later that evening.
- Police in multiple Alabama agencies are investigating similarities between recent robberies in Gardendale, Cullman, Gadsden and Springville. Location targets include two Gadsden hotels and a Springville convenience store.
