Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:
- The two teen suspects in the Mike Gilotti case had to deal with a separate shooting charge in court this past Thursday. After finding no probable cause, the Jefferson County District Judge dismissed the case in question, an attempted murder of a Fultondale man. Several co-defendants have recently been identified in the Gilotti case.
- Two men face charges after a fire destroyed a Sardis hotel. One is charged with first-degree arson and is suspected of starting the fire. The hotel owner faces 26 counts of reckless endangerment and several code violations for the hotel’s condition.
- Gadsden police arrested a man and woman on Tuesday after discovering synthetic drugs, methadone pills, marijuana and other drugs at their residence.There were three children also present. The suspects face multiple drug possession and trafficking charges.
