Here are a few of the criminal law stories that occurred around the state of Alabama this past week:

- The peace of the Christmas weekend was disrupted last Friday night by multiple arrests in a Brookside drug bust. Five suspects (many with young children in two) were arrested and now face a multitude of charges such as chemical endangerment of a child, trafficking cocaine, trafficking heroin, conspiracy to commit controlled substance crimes, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of firearms.
- Two Huntsville men have been arrested in connection with an illegal drug deal that turned deadly at a Madison Sonic this past Monday. Authorities believe they had planned to rob the 18-year-old during the deal. The suspects now are being held in Limestone County Jail and will face the death penalty of life in prison without parole if convicted of capital murder.
