Here are a few of the criminal law stories that have recently occurred around the state of Alabama:
- Gunfire rang out near the Buddy’s Food Mart in Tuscaloosa early this past Sunday. Police were originally called to the Cypress Inn Restaurant after receiving a domestic disturbance call. After arriving on the scene to a large crowd, officers heard 35-50 shots near Buddy’s. Three black males, one with life-threatening injuries and two with non-threatening injuries, were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center.
- A Mobile teenager recently discovered that crying wolf too many times can get you into some serious hot water. Mobile police had received calls from a young male who said his family received a murder threat and there was a stabbing at his school. They soon identified the caller as a 17-year-old student and charged him with two counts of “false reporting to law enforcement authority.”
- Police recently uncovered human remains in shallow graves near West Jefferson County. They have been identified as those of a missing Walker County couple, a man and woman aged 39 and 30 respectively. Though the murders were most likely “drug-related,” police are launching an investigation to discover the killer(s).
